Hey All. Update for today. 

Well,…. Ups and downs today. 

Had some mashed potatoes. Swallowing is slowly moving forward. Still sore. Still painful.  But better.

Had a video conference call with surgeon today. 

All progress from surgery is moving forward like it should. 

Got the news today about the scans they took right after surgery. They had to take more out of the throat/base of tongue them the originally wanted to. However, even with doing that, I will be needing radiation. There were just too many little cracks and crevices in there to be able to many sure they didn’t miss a little here and there. I have been prepping myself mentally for radiation so I wouldn’t be disappointed when it happened. Just kinda knocks ya off center a bit. But it’s ok. Another phase coming soon. 

They said they normally wait about 6 weeks to heal from surgery to get healthy before they start the radiation plan. I will be calling to set up an appt with radiation oncologist tomorrow. Hoping to be able to get feeding tube out next week. Really hoping to be able to get back to work in some capacity a few days next week. Now that radiation is the plan, I’d like to get as many hours in as I can while I can. They say usually that last half of radiation is pretty rough. 

Still in good spirits, still leaning in and pressing on. 

Now it’s time to heal up and start digging’ my heels in.
